Best small-medium sized town in Oregon?

I am looking to relocate. I am currently living overseas with my wife and our 3 daughters. Oregon looks like the best fit for me. I don't want to live in to big of an area, don't mind driving an hour to the nearest wal-mart, but HAVE to have broadband at my house. Cant live with satellite, wireless broadband, etc.
I really don't want anything to do with the little tourist mountain towns. I don't know how to ski and will never want to learn so i would rather not pay the premiums of living in or near a resort town.
So my question is, is there any place left? Small-med town, not touristy, cable isp available in OR?
I appreciate any input.. thanks

Oregon also has some very nice 'small town' areas. Behind the coastal mountains is a long valley that stretches almost the length of the state from north to south. In this valley are Eugene, Corvallis, Medford, Salem, Cottage Grove, etc., all very nice towns to live in, raise kids, have a nice life. Bend is further inland so you get a little more severe weather, but otherwise just as nice.
