how many miles will a acura rsx go before dying or needing major repairs?
I am buying my first car and I really am looking for a nice looking (perferably foreign) car. I want my car to be reliable last awhile at least until I get out of college and I am going to be a junior in highschool. I am looking at a 2004 acura rsx with131,874 miles on it. is this a lot of miles for a acura or could it last me awhile. I dont want to worry about it breaking down and running the miles up everytime I drive it.
please help me I'm stressin about this car.
That is a lot of miles for that year. The typical American driver puts only about 12k to 15k miles a year on their car while that rsx has been getting roughly 26k a year which is a lot. You will probably run into the 180k miles service before you get out of college which will cost you some good money. Typically honda engines(which is what acura's have) can last a while as long as they are maintained so its up to you if you are willing to keep up with the maintenance or not. If you really want to get I would also check into what maintenance has been done so far like if calipers have been replaced, brake pads, tranny fluid, radiator fluid, air filter and fuel filter, when the timing belt and water pump and thermostat were replaced last, when tires were replaced and wheel alignment was done last. Those are the most cruishial maintenance.
