Mid-entry gives up the brilliant contrivance to the skier because it has the lastingness of the front-entry and the sturdiness of the rear-entry.

When are ski boot soles too worn down to wear safely?
I bought my daughter used ski boots today and I vaguely remember that the soles can be too worn down to properly fit the binding, but I can't remember the rule of thumb as to when a ski boot sole is too worn. Do you have any idea?
Look at the soles, the heel and the toe will be the tell tale on them. Do they look worn? Do they look like the heel is worn heavy to the outside? Are you concerned? If so then take them and the skis to the neighborhood ski shop, not a big chain, and have them adjust the bindings and tune the skis and check the boots. You need to do all of this before the start of the season anyway. Have fun.
