Do you think some of the sports in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics are more for the Winter X Games?

I was surprised to learn that there is no Women's Ski Jumping this year in the Olympics. To me, that seems like a legitimate Olympic sport. They have it for the Men's but not the Women's.

Then, I see there's some sports like Snowboarding that are in the Olympics. Snowboarding to me seems more of an X Games sport. Although I'm sure it takes a lot of great skill and dedication to train for Snowboarding, it just seems more suited for the X Games.

I especially feel this way if they bumped a sport like Women's Ski Jumping to make room for one of the Snowboarding disciplines.

I believe the argument the IOC used was that the sport was not yet sufficiently developed to merit inclusion. No doubt they used that argument for a while with women's pole vaulting and triple jump, they're both now in. I'll be surprised if women's ski jumping doesn't feature in Sochi or at the latest the 2018 games.

And no, I don't think those other sports belong only in the X Games, they make a great addition to the Olympic program. Remember, the Winter Olympics goes on for about the same length of time as the summer games but features fewer sports, so there is more room for expansion. Women's ski jumping will surely be a part of it soon. Personally, the thing I'd most like to see would be a ski triathlon, featuring a ski jump, a cross country and a downhill run. That would be awesome.
